Another great Skills event for the Northern Region with all 14 teams, from as far apart as Windermere and Berwick, turning up on a rainy day with strong winds. Thanks to Len Small for organizing the event, to all those who helped, those who brought food and raffle prizes and to Kate and the Junior mums for catering.

WRecK-a- Hula Baby had the best time after the first series of Open event races. After the break the wind rose significantly and fortunately the arrival of the Teesside Princess caused their race to be aborted just as they got blown off the backing-down buoy. The rerun gave them the best time of the day and they became overall winners.

“It’s the Teesside Princess!” ; WRecK-a-Hula Baby (TEE): Kathryn Graham(cox), Dan Reading, Bob Tiltman, John Anderson and John Pattison.

TEE WRecKs had a good outing and were up with the winners after the first race. They had a disappointing second run, in very windy conditions, but still came out with a creditable fourth place.
