BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS - 17-18/10
Open TA - SILVER - Laurence Whiteley
Open TA - BRONZE - James Rose

Background from John Winton:
In the 1K time trial (to seed the finals) Laurence was impeded in his designated lane by a capsized single in the LTA category who had set off earlier. Laurence had to take avoiding action and move lanes (twice as I recall!) and, as a result, his time only placed him in the B Final with James. Scott Meenagh from Arm RC the other OTA was not impeded in the time trial and was given a place in the A final based on his better time

However in the 2K finals Laurence placed 1st in the B final with a superior time (9:11.57) to both Scott (in the A final ) and James but was ineligible for the Gold medal due to being in the B Final. Although James placed 5th in the B final (10:58.81) there were other LTA and W TA in the B final and he was awarded a bronze in his O TA category. This was James’ first 2K race and first Brit Champs.
Kate previously issued a race report including Start performances. Unfortunately I have been unable to locate this email to include it again here, apologies all.
